About the Game

OrthoMonk is an independent PC monastery simulation game. Build a monastery, guide its community, serve the surrounding world, and endure the passing seasons.

The game focuses on indirect colony and community management. Rather than micro-managing individual characters directly, you shape monastic life through schedules, obediences, priorities, and shared physical infrastructure.

Build

Grow a monastery from a small beginning into a living community. Construct chapels, living quarters, refectories, workshops, and perimeter walls using authentic regional architectural traditions.

Guide

Organise daily work, spiritual duties, skills, needs, prayer, and communal life through indirect management and monastic obediences.

Serve

Interact with nearby villages, pilgrims, wayfarers, and regional travellers through education, care, monastic crafts, hospitality, and trade.

Endure

Adapt to regional climates, material scarcity, harsh seasonal changes, and an evolving simulated medieval environment.

Current Development Status

OrthoMonk is in active, early development.

There is no public playable demo, no pre-order campaign, and no promised release date. The game simulation systems, elevated-orthographic tile compositor, schedule resolver, and architectural assets are being built steadily by a solo developer.

Availability on digital storefronts, testing access, and future milestone releases will be announced only when genuine playable milestones are achieved.

Support OrthoMonk

OrthoMonk is an independent project developed over the long term. Voluntary support helps cover artwork, development tools, infrastructure, and production costs.

Important Supporter Clarification

  • Voluntary gifts: Contributions help fund ongoing independent development time, art production, and project expenses.
  • Not a commercial preorder: Supporting does not purchase a software license, future key, or guaranteed release date.
  • No paywalled perks: There are no tiered reward levels or exclusive in-game advantages.
  • Not a charitable donation: OrthoMonk is an independent creative project by solo developer Alexandru Macavei. Contributions are not tax-deductible charitable or ecclesiastical donations.
